Welcome to the Soul Side!

Welcome to 46 North and the 46 North Dispatches. Yep, I’m actually going to write a blog. Why not, right?

Hiking, hunting, fishing, cycling, climbing, trapping, kayaking, running and just all out on and off grid adventures; it will all be found right here.46 North Wilderness Expeditions was formed as a way for me to give back to a community that I have learned so much from. A way for me to encourage others to get out there and push themselves beyond what they thought they were capable of. The backcountry, or wilderness, is not a place many of us are comfortable enough to explore, even some hunters stay close to the road and the safety it provides. My goal is to get you out further, to push your own limits. Hiking, hunting, fishing, or just general life pursuits; 46 North Wildereness Expeditions is here to encourage you to go further.

Near Paradise Glacier on Mount Rainier - Washington

This is all about a hands on experience. This is not watching a YouTube video and living vicariously through someone elses experiences. This is seeing and doing on your own. This is rolling up your own sleeves, doing the work, and getting your hands dirty. The only limits are those you impose on yourself. If you can dream it you can do it. Find your limit, push it further than you ever thought possible.

Countless dayhikes and backpacking trips led me to complete the Adirondacks 46 High Peaks (Finisher 9464). That led to bigger mountain pursuits, with wilder more remote terrain, like Washington’s Mount Rainier, northern Maine or the remote and rugged backcountry of Idaho. I never would have done any of this if I didn’t challenge and push myself. I would have never become a Climbing Instructor either. Teaching people how to climb really opened my eyes to my own abilities. This planted the seed to pursue 46 North and educate others so they too can enjoy our remote wild places.
